On Saturday the 17th, some teachers and pupils went to the BETT show in London, olympia. We were all from year 5 and 6 to show our projects we made at home. Our projects were about something we can do really well, or a talent that we really like. I chose to write about puppet club, because I really enjoy it and find it something different to do. Everybody who went made a really good project. It turned out very well, as some customers talked to us about our projects. It was very busy, and there were many stands. Our stand was at 'Learning elswhere'. We all had a T-shirt designed, with Kings Road Primary School at the front, and learning elsewhere at the back. Also, we had a pass around our neck to tell people who we were. Near the end of the show some of us who were given SMART shirts had to go to the SMART stand. The competition was to wear the shirts to advertise SMART, and if you did you could win a prize with your raffle ticket. Luckily, we won one of the SMART prizes for our school. Thank you to Chloe H who won! Thank you very much for reading my blog! By Leanne. |

On Saturday the 16th of January some people from year 5 and 6 came to the BETT show in London with Mr Furness and all of the other teachers. We had to be at school by 7:30 am, we arrived in London at about 9:30 and we had special passes to get in. When we arrived we put our bags in little lockers and then we started, Me and Jade started taking pictures of each other using different expressions like surprised, happy sad and many more because we were making a pairs game with Neil. Then we were given this leaflet about winning a i Pod Nano, you had to take pictures of this little bus in different places. Later we had lunch in Pizza Express because we had a £10.00 voucher to spend on food, I had a cheese and tomato pizza with pepperoni and for dessert I had chocolate fudge cake with coke, it was really tasty! After lunch we went around the BETT show at all of the other stands and we got lots of freebies like pencils, sweets and them fluffy things that stick to things! When we came back me, Jade, Alex S and Leanne were handing out leaflets to people and showing them our projects on the laptops. Tom and Kimberly also showed their projects on the interactive white boards that I thought were really good! Thank you to Mr Furness and all the teachers who helped us because we couldn't of done it with out them! Thank you for the great day out. Because the exhibition lasted for four days they were getting rid of some of their stuff, Me and Jade got to take home three pictures each that were on a display in the BETT Show.

Royal Albert Hall - Sunday 16th November 2008
On Sunday 16th November 2008. Some of Kings Road Choir, went to London to sing at the Royal Albert Hall. We all Gathered in the Small Hall, at around 7:30 - 7:45 to get ready to set of. We got on the coach at about 8:05. After we got on the coach we waved our goodbyes and set of to London. It took approximately 2 hours to get there but it was worth it. When we arrived at the Royal Albert Hall we had to wait a little while so we had our mornng snack. When we were aloud to enter the Royal Albert Hall, we got taken to our dressing room to put our stuff down. Then, we were wizzed of to to our first rehearsal. After our 1 1/2 rehearsal we had our lunch. But then again we were wizzed of for another rehearsal! for around 2 hours. we went over a couple of songs. But yet again we had ANOTHER break for another 1 1/2 and then wizzed back again for our FINAL rehearsal. But then the time came for our real preformance at 6:30pm. It was AMAZING. Esspecially when we done the mexican wave. We were also recorded for a perfessional DVD for parents to buy. It went by so quickly. But it was worth it. All the effort put in the singing showed on the way home. Everyone slowly drifted to sleep - well apart from Megan and jade who were still wide awake :-) - It was an amazing oppertunity. The best part was when we found out who our host was ... It was Sid of off Cbbies. he was so funny! Also when we found that Lara's design went on the t-shirt. WELL DONE ! THANK YOU to Mrs Fuke who chose me to go and represent the school. And Mr Furness, Mr Kyriarco and also Mrs Woolmer, for taking up there own time just to come and see us sing. THANK YOU! :-)

Last night I went to London for a 'flight' on the London Eye. I've been on it during the day but wanted to see London at night with all the lights. Something happened which made it even more fun. Before we got on, a man asked us if we would take a photograph of him with the group of people he was with, using his camera. My husband took the photo of what turned out to be the management team of the London Eye. They insisted on taking us to the front of the queue and upgraded our flight to a champagne one which meant that we were able to see the amazing sight of London at night whilst drinking champagne! It was a fantastic evening! I've got some photos but seem to have lost the little box that enabled me to insert them with the text! Are you there Mr Furness - I need your help!
