The digestive system

This term our topic is THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM!!!!

Firstly a piece of food travels into the mouth where the saliva meets the food.

Next the food goes down the oesophagus and ends up in the stomach where it gets melted down by the acid.

Then the piece of food gets taking through the liver, and down to the

small intestine where it is brushed about by the villi witch

takes all the nutrients from the food and puts it into the blood stream.

After you have gone through the small intestine the food enters the large intestine. At 3 or 4 inches around the large intestine is fatter than the small intestine and it's almost the last stop on the digestive tract.

Like the small intestine, it is packed into the body, and would measure 5 feet long if you spread it out. Inside the large intestine, the water is taken out and returned to the body.

What is left is passed out of the body as waste, known as feaces.

Finally all the food that has not been digestive come out into the toilet.

More to follow !!
