Royal Albert Hall - Sunday 16th November 2008
On Sunday 16th November 2008. Some of Kings Road Choir, went to London to sing at the Royal Albert Hall. We all Gathered in the Small Hall, at around 7:30 - 7:45 to get ready to set of. We got on the coach at about 8:05. After we got on the coach we waved our goodbyes and set of to London. It took approximately 2 hours to get there but it was worth it. When we arrived at the Royal Albert Hall we had to wait a little while so we had our mornng snack. When we were aloud to enter the Royal Albert Hall, we got taken to our dressing room to put our stuff down. Then, we were wizzed of to to our first rehearsal. After our 1 1/2 rehearsal we had our lunch. But then again we were wizzed of for another rehearsal! for around 2 hours. we went over a couple of songs. But yet again we had ANOTHER break for another 1 1/2 and then wizzed back again for our FINAL rehearsal. But then the time came for our real preformance at 6:30pm. It was AMAZING. Esspecially when we done the mexican wave. We were also recorded for a perfessional DVD for parents to buy. It went by so quickly. But it was worth it. All the effort put in the singing showed on the way home. Everyone slowly drifted to sleep - well apart from Megan and jade who were still wide awake :-) - It was an amazing oppertunity. The best part was when we found out who our host was ... It was Sid of off Cbbies. he was so funny! Also when we found that Lara's design went on the t-shirt. WELL DONE ! THANK YOU to Mrs Fuke who chose me to go and represent the school. And Mr Furness, Mr Kyriarco and also Mrs Woolmer, for taking up there own time just to come and see us sing. THANK YOU! :-)

hello everybody!
I am going to talk to you about the Royal Albert Hall. First eeryone in choir got on the coach to London and we saw the London Eye and Big Ben. When we were aloud to go into the hall the choir went into are dressing room for rehersals. Miss Edon Baker met us and she was so nice and funny. Then we started singing and doing actions. My favourite song has to be Be Prepared in the Lion King Medley because it makes be when we have to say as wet as a warthogs backside! When we did the real performance I was shaking becoause we only had a lilltle amount of time to learn the actions but I really enjoyed it. My Dad, Nan and Sister watched me and they said they enjoyed it aswell:-) then we left on the coach I fell asleep and Mr Kyriacou woke me up.
I really loved that expierence and I hope all of choir did to.

On Sunday 16th November 2008, 44 children from Kings Road Primary School travelled to London to participate in the Barnardo's Concert for children at the Royal Albert Hall. The day began with a rehearsal as the choir were taken through each song stage by stage. Although fun and exciting, it was hard work as the concentration required was immense. All the children's efforts were fully realised when they came to perform at 6:30pm, and not just from the day's work, but also the culmination of work that the pupils put in over recent weeks with Mrs Fuke. Here is a Panorama that Mr Furness made whilst the children were rehearsing and some photographs that were taken throughout the day. No doubt, pupils will be recording their own version of events later this week! If you zoom in (SHIFT key), you can see pupils from
At the end of the evening, some very happy but tired children gathered for a group |
