Pupils in Year 4 have been learning about Light and Sound. They have been investigating real world uses of mirrors to reflect light. One such example is in submarines which use periscopes so that they can see what's happening on the surface of the water without the submarine having to surface and be seen by the enemy. Here's a video showing you how to make your own periscope.

Year 4 pupils visited St. Peter's College on Wednesday 9th July. At last it was time to perform in front of parents from other schools as well as ours. It was really fun and nerve racking. We performed three dances that were the Motif-A, group dance and the conveyor belt that I forgot to tell you about and also the drama. Read more of Megan C's experiences.

Homework Tasks
Following on from our work on letter writing last week we would like you to write a letter to Cadbury complaining about a chocolate product that you have bought. Remember how o set your letter out and that this will be a formal letter so think about the type of language you will need to use. 2. Please complete this week’s maths task. Homework project-This is our last week focusing on chocolate before we move on to our final topic of the year next week so if you haven’t completed your non-fiction book on chocolate yet there is still time! We will be sending out details of your final homework challenge of the year in the next few weeks. Our ‘Five Days’ reading challenge continues so start to think about which DVD you would like to watch for your next treat and………….
Date for your diary: · Swimming will take place again on Wednesday so make sure that you have your swimming kit in school. · Remember to make sure your PE kit is back in school ready to enjoy the warm (?) weather! · Remember that Friday is an INSET day so the children will not be in school on that day. |

This week, I'd like you to play darts with a friend or a member of your family. Cut out the arrows and place them on the dartboard. Work out the total number of points scored. Practice adding both single and 2-digit numbers together. You might start with just two darts before "throwing" a third. What is the highest score you can throw with three darts? What is the lowest score you can throw with three darts? What is the least number of darts you would need to throw to reach 0 from 101? Download the homework sheet so that you can print and play! Good luck! |

Don’t forget to try and include things like similes and alliteration. 2. Please complete this week’s maths task. Homework project-How is your research going? Have you started to write anything for your book yet? What about some pictures or diagrams? Maybe you could find out how chocolate is made in a factory. Our ‘Five Days’ reading challenge continues so start to think about which DVD you would like to watch for your next treat and………….
Date for your diary: · Don’t forget your swimming kit on Wednesday. |
