Homework Tasks
Following on from our work on letter writing last week we would like you to write a letter to Cadbury complaining about a chocolate product that you have bought. Remember how o set your letter out and that this will be a formal letter so think about the type of language you will need to use.

Homework project-This is our last week focusing on chocolate before we move on to our final topic of the year next week so if you haven’t completed your non-fiction book on chocolate yet there is still time!
We will be sending out details of your final homework challenge of the year in the next few weeks.
Our ‘Five Days’ reading challenge continues so start to think about which DVD you would like to watch for your next treat and………….
Date for your diary:
· Swimming will take place again on Wednesday so make sure that you have your swimming kit in school.
· Remember to make sure your PE kit is back in school ready to enjoy the warm (?) weather!
· Remember that Friday is an INSET day so the children will not be in school on that day.

This week, I'd like you to play darts with a friend or a member of your family. Cut out the arrows and place them on the dartboard. Work out the total number of points scored. Practice adding both single and 2-digit numbers together. You might start with just two darts before "throwing" a third.
What is the highest score you can throw with three darts?
What is the lowest score you can throw with three darts?
What is the least number of darts you would need to throw to reach 0 from 101?

Homework Tasks
This week we are feeling like spring so………we would like you to write a poem all about spring. You can use anything you like to do with spring to inspire you. For example: the weather, flowers or animals. Your poem can rhyme if you want it to or not. You could try writing an acrostic poem. Don’t forget to try and include things like similes and alliteration.

Homework project-How is your research going? Have you started to write anything for your book yet? What about some pictures or diagrams? Maybe you could find out how chocolate is made in a factory.

This week we would like you to use what you have learnt about persuasive writing and create the script for your own radio advert. The advert must advertise YOU!!!!!!!!! Don’t forget to include all the positives about you, why people should want to get to know you, what you can offer etc.......and a jingle of course!

Homework project-Have you found out where chocolate was first invented? Can you tell us who brought it to Britain and when?
How about your book, have you decided how to present it yet?

We would like you to choose an advert that makes you want to do or buy something (it could be on paper or from the TV), and write about it. What is it about the advert that attracts you? Tell us about the features of the advert you have chosen. You can use what you have learnt in literacy this week to help you.

· Your author presentation should now be completed and be ready to be given to the rest of the class. Your teacher will talk to you about a time in school over the next 2/3 weeks when you will give your presentation. We are very much looking forward to them!
· Your new half term homework project is to make a book about the Aztecs and the history of chocolate. There are ideas for this on the separate letter.
