Remember that tonight our clocks go forward one hour, so be careful otherwise you might miss breakfast tomorrow morning!

In the UK we have to change our clocks twice a year, once in the Spring and again in the Autumn. Some people have difficulty remembering which way the clocks have to be changed. I use this saying...

Spring forward (clocks go forward) and Fall Back (clocks go back)

(Fall is the name the United States give to Autumn)

Can anyone explain why we change the time by one hour twice a year?
