On Saturday I went to Silverstone to see the Qualifying of the F1 British Grand Prix! At Ten o'clock the F1 cars came out to see how the track was and how it felt. The cars went round the track really fast (I was glad they had handed out ear plugs at the gate). It felt like less than a minute after you had seen them and they were back again. After that there was another race called Porshe Supercup. They weren't as fast as the F1 cars and took a bit longer to get round the track. It was good though that there were other things going on to pass the time. Now it was time for the real Qualifying session! Lewis Hamilton did really well in Qualifying 1 and another British driver Jenson Button did quite well in that session as well. Then in Qualifying 2 Lewis Hamilton came first again! But it all went wrong in Qualifying 3 where he went off the track and ended up coming 4th. His bad Qualifying didn't matter in the race because he WON! It was even more special because he was at home!

As a BIG fan of Formula One Motorsport, I was very envious to hear of your visit to Silverstone. I am really pleased to see you supporting the McLaren Team, Jonathan!
I went to the Silverstone circuit a few years ago and I was amazed at how noisy the cars were, especially the start with 20 cars on the grid.
You reported your day very well and very accurately. Thank you Jonathan, it was a pleasure reading your entry and well done for adding the photograph.

It must have been cool to see the F1 cars.
