Blogs at Kings Road Primary School
some learning reflections from the staff and pupils.
On Saturday 26th of January, Year 4 Kings Road chess team competed in a competition to go to the semi final in a Pontins in Hemsby. We eached played five matches.
Most people in our team won four or more games I thought everyone did well. I won four out of five games. The matches I won I took their queen and two castles but the match I lost was quite hard.

What a good idea for another blog post, Brook?
Perhaps you could outline how Chess is played and maybe find a picture to include in your description, which shows the layout of the board. We could find some class time to show the class too, if you like. Perhaps make a video of you explaining and moving the chess pieces?

Good morning Brook,
Gosh, 5 matches each?! I bet you went home feeling very tired after the day had finished. Congratulations to you and your team for getting through to the semi-finals. That's a wonderful accomplishment.
Winning four our of your five matches is excellent. Do you think you have learnt more about winning a game of chess, having lost one of the games?
Sounds odd, but often we learn more from losing or making mistakes than being right or winning all the time.
