Today we had our first Photo Club lesson of the year and I enjoyed it very much, I hope the kids enjoyed it too...

Today we asked: what is photography and what do we use it for?

Photography is a term which comes from the Greek words; phos (light) and graphê (drawing), together meaning "drawing with light." We talked about light and how we wouldn't be able to see or take photographs without light. We also made some sun prints using various objects which works a bit like how the sun darkens our skin where it is exposed and how it remains lighter where it is covered. We also talked a bit about the history of cameras and saw a few examples.
