some learning reflections from the staff and pupils.

In school today we have been talking about recycling. We were talking about one type of can it was Aluminium. So we had to design somthing like a wind chime or a bird bath.I designed a Robo Dog. You may think what an earth is that! well it's a dog made out of Aluminium, for the body I had on can and for the tail I am going to cut a piece of the can thats very thin and i's going to be Robo's tail. then for the legs I am going to cut the tin in half for the legs and I'm going to us a tin for it's head and for it's ears I am going to use the metal bit that you pull to open it. Also for the eyes I am going to cut tiny bits out for the eyes! PLEASE recycle I hope I gave you some ideas of what you could make!!

Hi Megan
I wasn't in class this afternoon so I'm just catching up with what you were all doing! Your dog sounds great. I was wondering how you are going to cut the can? Also did you find out if aluminium is magnetic or not?
You'll be pleased to know that the Leslie family recycle their cans and glass, paper, plastic and card!

That is very impressive, Mrs Leslie... would you like to recycle mine as well!?
I find it very time consuming, but as we discussed today, essential if we are going to save our natural resources and protect the environment. I'm a big believer in recycling garden waste, grass clippings, leave litter, potato peelings and putting them on my compost heap. As a keen gardener, the fruit and vegetable plants love recycling too!!

Hi Megan,
Great work. I shall show you how to post an image of your aluminum can design on your blog article as well.
I particularly like the way you have thought through and described how you would make the Robo Dog if you had the opportunity to. It sounds as though you could make it tomorrow with the detail you have included. Very well done.
:-)
See you 'demain'
