African cup of Nations

The African cup of nations is held biennially this means its held every 2 years. It is going to be held in Ghana. There are 16 nations invloved in the cup including: Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal and Ghana. My favourite team is Ivory Coast because they have some of my favourite footballers in their team: Kolo Toure,Yaya Toure, Eboue and Aruna Kone. The African cup of nations is very colourful because of all the flags. It also very musical.

Thank you for reading my entry goodbye.

Hello Nat,

Gosh, I love learning new things and you've chosen a topic that I know very little about, so there is lots that you can tell me. It is possible to add pictures to blog posts on this site. Do you think you could have a go at uploading a picture of a colourful flag or two, like the ones you describe in your writing above?

Nat, I was delighted to see that someone was interested in the African Cup. I am in the Gambia and they did not qualify, however, I am supporting Zambia because one of my friends here, another VSO colleague called Kpenda, is from Zambia. Also, there is only one letter difference between Gambia and Zambia.
Most people in The Gambia do not have televisions and so watch football in the street, paying a small amount to do so. I watched Zambai v Sudan last night in a bar along with a group of Zambians who were very excited when their team scored! It was a hot evening and we were all sat outside which was rather fun as I thought of folk back home in the cold and wet!
I shall now take an interest in the Ivory Coast too!
