On Wednesday 24th of March, Kings Road School hosted a heat of Quiz Club. Four pupils from Kings Road represented the school, with four other children acting as reserves. They were Chloe H from Year 6, Patrick S (Yr 5), Ethan WA (Yr4) and Luke J (Yr3). The reserves were Alexander P (Yr6), Alexandra L (Yr5), Bradley C (Yr4) and Constance FB (Yr3).
First we had to escort teachers and pupils from the other 6 schools taking part to the main hall.
Inside the hall it was very dark and there was a large projection screen on the stage, there were seven tables where four pupils from the schools sat. Mr. Kyriacou told everyone about what was going to happen. Then he passed the microphone to the lady who was running the Quiz who told us how to work the remotes. Then the quiz started. The first section of the quiz had approximately 25 questions with points from 20-100. The next round had 10 questions with points from 60-100. All the questions were multiple choice with four answers, only one being correct. Some of the questions were: “What colour is the triple word box on a Scrabble Board?” or “What is it called when you rearrange the letters in a word?” A picture question was “Which flag is this?” We could see our scores after every question and for quite a while we were joint first!
But sadly this didn’t last and we came 4th out of 7 schools. It was really exciting and we were given a Certificate for taking part and some sweets.
