some learning reflections from the staff and pupils.
Whilst many of the Year 6 pupils and staff are visiting the Isle of Wight, they will record their thoughts and reflections on what they have seen and experienced through photographs, sounds and video clips.
Their experiences can be followed on this page. You can add your comments about their adventures by clicking on the Add New Comment button below each entry. In order to safeguard pupils, comments are moderated and displayed after being approved.
Good Morning Chelmsford
I can't believe it's our final day in the Island. The children will shortly be having breakfast and then will take their cases to the coach (minus all those odd socks, pants, towels etc.!) I'm not sure we will make it in time to visit Osbourne House but will still spend some time in the grounds and visiting Swiss Cottage.
I am sure that there will be many sleepy heads on the journey home as will are all feeling a little jaded!
I look forward to returning home and seeing my little terrors!
Take care and we will see you all soon.
Mr Kyriacou
p.s. sorry Mrs Underwood, I think the lost property pile is likely to grow further upon our return!!

Good Morning All
The sun is shining again this morning despite some heavy downpours last night (we are hoping they will stay away today). Last night we went to the Shanklin Theatre, it was very warm inside and full of screaming children, but as you can see from OMK's picture the children and some of the staff had a great time dancing to many very popular songs. I wonder what she will choose to sing on the karaoke tonight!!
The children continue to have a fantastic time, although feeling somewhat tired. I am really looking forward to our day at Blackgang today and also to the talent show this evening. Ray has been keeping me entertained telling jokes in preparation for this evening!
It is hard to believe that we are already on the penultimate day and that we will be heading back to the mainland (or as one child wrote earlier on in the week England!!) tomorrow.
I hope the Y6's continue to enjoy the planned activities and I hope they stay safe on their bicycles!
That's all for now, take care
Mr Kyriacou
p.s we are all giving Mr Disley all the TLC he deserves!!

hi guys
today we went to Colemans farm I really enjoyed it especialy when we groomed the goats and fed them! We also stroked lambs and ginni pigs and saw pigs, cows and lots more animals. I thought it was great!
we then went to alum bay where we went on a boat trip to see the needles they were very cool but they did not look like needles we then climbed up 200 odd steps up to the shops where you could buy a glass shape and fill it with sand i made a guitar it looks great
ceya matt and james
We have had an action packed day today. Colemans Farm was excellent and the children really enjoyed having an opportunity to groom and feed the animals! There may be fewer blogs posted tonight as the children are all currently in their rooms grooming themselves ready for dinner and then on to the theatre! I'm sure they will all be online either later or in the morning.
I am pleased to hear that everyone at school is well and missing us. The Y6 activity week looks good fun and I am looking forward to seeing photos of their sandcastles.
Take Care
Mr Kyriacou
P.s I hope Liz enjoys the bike ride!

Then we went to the beech and made giant castles and ours were the best but we lost! After that we went to Amazon world and we watched a show where there were birds proforming, a hawk and a barn owl the hawk was the best! We then went into the zoo and we came along a place where there were teranchlers, we went on and we saw loads of monkeys a lot of them where funny. then we went to the gift shop and it was really boring when we went home until we went fossil hunting. then we went home and went to bed.

Good Morning all.
The sun is shining again (although we are not confident it will last too much longer!) and we are looking forward to another action packed day. It is now 7:40 and We have just had to go and wake all of the boys, breakfast will be served shortly and our sleeping beauties have only got 20 minutes to get themselves ready ( i guess a shower will be out of the question for most of them, again!!).
It is great to read so many comments from parents, I am grateful to Mr Furness (who is the brains behind us being able to use the technology), I believe that that the use of the technology has really enabled our pupils to interact and reflect on their learning experiences throughout the week. I hope to have uploaded some MP3 files by the end of the day, so you will be able to hear the children's views whilst out on location.
All of the children have the opportunity to contribute to the blog site and I very much hope that by the end of the week they will all have done so.
Until tomorrow, take care.
Mr Kyriacou
p.s Mrs Underwood we have found many fossils which I am sure will complement your office!

Hi people
Its Rhys here. All of us are having a great time here in the Isle of wight.Today we went to carisbrook castle. It was amazing!
After we went to the beach to do a 'special' activity. And it really was amazing fun. we had to get into groups of 2-4 (i was with jack p in a group of 2) and make.....SANDCASTLES. it was judged on: the tallest. the most realistic and the most creative.
After the activity we went to Amazon world. that was fantastic! ive never seen so many 'amazonic' creatures in one building!
Anyway, having a great time here with all my friends. hope you're having a great time at home!
From Rhys ;-)

The sun is shining and the views across the bay are stunning, (well it didn't look quite so stunning at some unearthly hour this morning!). The children slept well (the girls were a little chatty, you will be surprised to hear!) as I type this one room are still asleep and breakfast will be served in 15 minutes! Today we are off to Carisbrooke Castle, we may then attempt to make some of our own castles before moving on to Amazon World and then Fossil hunting in the evening. I hope you all have a good day today, I am sure that several entries to the blog will be added in due course.
