IOW Day One

Hi my name's Alex and i'm on the Isle Of Wight. I'm sharing a room with Kara B, Doriane C, Megan G and me. Unfortuantely we don't have a bath. Its really nice here but the ferry ride was a bit too rough for me. In our room has three sets of bunk beds. Our rooms our next to Emily E, Angelica C, Holly H, Amy M, who were REALLY noisy. On the ferry it was really annoying because Bradley T kept on saying 'we're sinking we're drowning' i told him to be quiet cause he was saying it to annoy me but he didn't so i just went away.

Isle Of Wight!

 Hi my name is Megan and I am in the Isle Of Wight with other Kings Road pupils. The coach trip down was good, it went really quickly! I sat next to Frankie T on the coach and we ate lots of sweets. When we were waiting to get on the ferry I was sat next to Jade and we were listening to my i-pod really loudly and we were head banging ;) All the other people in other coaches were staring at us. It was about half an hour on the ferry and we then arrived at the other side. We then went to Amazon World and saw lots and lots of really cute animals! I bought a magnet in the shop with two owls on it and it says "Isle of Wight".We then came back to the hotel and had yummy soup for starters, followed by hotdogs and then a piece of cake for dessert. Later on we had hot chocolates and then we went of to bed. I shared a room with: Emily, Jade, Frankie and Alex S.

I woke up this morning about 6:20am and everyone else in our room was up as well, Then Alex had a shower and it was really cold! Actually it was freezing, Alex survived but when I got in I was whining as it was freezing so a teacher came in and, we must of turned the switch of so I then had a lovely,warm shower! ;) Today we are going to a Castle and a farm and later on in the evening we are going fossil hunting. Hope all my family are okay and not missing me to much!! How is Snowbell?? :) xx

Isle of wight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY

 Yesterday was soooooo fun and the best birthday ever, we had to be at school by nine 'o' clock and to be checked in and ready to leave. We left school half past nine and started getting ready for the dreaded two hour journey to Portsmouth. On the coach I played DS for a wile and chatted for a wile, but towards the end of the journey everyone sung me happy birthday.

At Portsmouth we had a picnic and millions of sea gulls kept dive bombing the food!After that we went back onto the coach and went onto the ferry. The ferry took forty mins and I got some great pictures of the Spinnaker tower.

When we got off the ferry we went to amazon world! It was amazing, just like a real rainforest.There were macaws, bats, monkeys and giant ant eaters.At the gift shop I got a pencil for my collection.

Back at the hotel we found out what rooms we were in(I am with James!!!) and we found we were going to the beach! At the beach we went paddling in the sea and played football.

All in all yesterday was the best birthday ever!!

Year 6 pupils leave Chelmsford bound for the Isle of Wight.

At 9:30am, lots of excited and ever so slightly anxious pupils boarded the coach for their residential trip to the Isle of Wight. Many parents attended to wave the pupils goodbye and reassure their sons and daughters of a fabulous week away.

Having spoken to Mr Kyriacou only 15 minutes ago, he confirmed that the pupils have arrived safe and well at the hotel where they will spend four nights away from home. The Year 6s have wasted no time and visited Amazon World this afternoon after driving off the ferry. The adventure has already begun!

Check back here for more over the coming days. In the meantime, why not leave a message for the Year 6 Isle of Wight group.

Isle of wight week

Isle Of Wight Week

On Monday 8th June we had to wave goodbye to our parents, and to chelmsford to begin our long 4 hour journey to the Isle of Wight. The coach Journey was really boring ( I must have seen a million trees) but i was really looking forward to getting there. After an anoying 4 hours we arrived at the ferry. We then got of the coach and went upstairs and we could see the sea from a really high point. When we got off the ferry we got back on the coach and we travelled to Amazon world, where we saw snakes, spiders, butterfly's and birds. After this we went to our hotel Palm Court!

As soon as we arrived we met Granddad and the hotel owner Keith. Keith sent us to our rooms to unpack. Later on that day we sat down to have our tea. It was really really nice. When we went to bed i couldn't get to sleep because i was so exited. The whole trip to the I.O.W was a really great and sucsessful one. I especially enjoyed theese events,

Black Gang Chine;

Bodysurfing;

Theatre;

And Dinner!

Thank you staff, teachers and of course pupils for making it such an awsome week.

Bye all!!!

What a week!

<!--StartFragment-->

 I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the children and staff for a fantastic week on the Isle of Wight. I can honestly say that it was the best residential I have been involved in. I was extremely proud of all the children, they were thoughtful and caring throughout the week and certainly kept myself and the other staff entertained with their quirky ways and humorous comments! Despite feeling a tad jaded due to late nights and early mornings I am spending time reviewing all of the blog entries and pictures and am delighted to read so many positive comments from the children in year 6. The activity week certainly looked enjoyable and I am looking forward to hearing all about the week on Monday.

Enjoy your final five weeks at KR!!

Good Morning Chelmsford Day 4

 Good morning Chelmsford!

It is five past seven, the sun is shining brightly and the children are all still asleep!! It's hard to believe that it is day four already. This morning we are off on a boat cruise around the Needles and then engaging in some water sports this afternoon! This evening, once the children have packed and made claim to all the stray pants and socks,  the children will have an opportunity to display their many talents in our IOW talent show.

I hope that everything is well in England!! (it is amazing what a ferry ride can do to the Children's geographical bearings!)

I am sure the children will keep you posted on events today.

 Hello everyone Chloe.H here to speak about the third day at the Isle of Wight.

It was raining for the first time this week.

Today we went to Blackgang Chine. First we went on the water rides. One of the rides was called the Plughole. That one was completely covered over. I went on that ride with Mr Kyriacou. He screamed really loudly. Then we went on the rollercoaster called Cliff Hanger. It was really scary! After that we had our lunch. Then we went to the Cowboy part of the the park. Then we went back to the hotel. We had our tea and then went to the Theater to watch Kerpow! It was all about superheroes. It was really good.

That was all for day 3 read more tomorrow for day 4.

Day Three by Peter R

 I went to sleep nice and early on Tuesday night and had a really good sleep. I woke up feeling ready for the day. Today we went to Blackgang Chine. Most people went on the water ride and I enjoyed watching them. The best parts of the day for me was when Mr Kyriacou lent me his sheriffs badge and I arrested all the lady staff. I really liked the majic mirrors that made my body look all funny. Everyone is off at the Theatre so PC Turton and I have got the hotel all to our selves to watch DVD's!

Good Morning!!

 Good Morning Chelmsford!

The sky was full of rain and half past five this morning, but now we have all finished breakfast the sun is trying to break through. We are looking forward to another busy day and the children look a little more refreshed than yesterday morning after having a little (yes only a little) more sleep last night.

The children have been a real delight and are certainly ensuring we have all had such a good week so far.

I will post more later but risk missing the coach (again!) if I do not get myself orgainised.

We are encouraging the children to post information on the site although some are a little reluctant to do so as they are pre occupied!

I hope you are all well and missing us!

Take Care

Mr Kyriacou
