Chocolate Poem

Hi everyone. Just found this poem on chocolate. What do you think of it? Could you write a poem about chocolate and put it onthe site? Or maybe you can have a look in some poetry books and see if you can find any more.

 

 

Mmmmmm.........Chocolate!!!!!!

Here I sit, eating chocolate chips.
To quit eating chocolate, I need more than tips.
There are so many kinds of chocolate, it’s hard to choose
No matter which one you pick, you just can’t lose.
 
There is milk chocolate, sweet chocolate and semi-sweet
I really like dark chocolate! It’s such a treat!!!!!
There is also mint chocolate and white chocolate-I’m not through!
There is cereal, cake, cookies, candy, pudding, pie and ice-cream too.
 
Chocolate tastes so rich and sweet, and sometimes smooth.
It can help make you feel better, or help your heartache sooth.
There are many chocolate drinks. Have some, just for fun-
Cappuccino, chocolate milk, mocha and cocoa-try more than one!
 
Is chocolate as good as a hug, or a pat on the back?
What if I’m out of chocolate, when I have my next attack?!
I could just imagine that I’m eating chocolate I suppose.
If I eat lots of chocolate all day long, would I overdose?
 
Where would I go……what ever would I do…….without chocolate?
Nothing can compare. Not even one word rhymes with chocolate?
Do I take it for granted that I can always get more?
I could eat chocolate candies, by the score!
 
Is chocolate something to fear-is it really a curse?
Is it something to be avoided, or is it much worse?
Or….is chocolate the eighth wonder? Is it a total delight?
Something you savour for so long? Or love with all your might?

 

Author presentation

Hi NW8! How are you all getting on with your author presentations? I wonder which of you is going to be brave enough to do the first one?

Next half term your project is going to be to make a non fiction book all about the Aztecs and the history of chocolate. More details will follow after the holiday.

Don't forget to keep saving all your different chocolate wrappers and packaging.

By the way-did anyone forget about the clocks and miss breakfast????????

All About this Term

I have really enjoyed teaching this term. It has been a really busy term for the teacher's and quite a stressful one because we had our OFSTED inspection. The things I have enjoyed doing most with my class have been weaving, batik and all our other art work, maths week; which I though was fabulous and great fun and reading Dragon Boy to my class. I really like it when I am reading and they laugh out loud at the story because I know that means they are really enjoying it.

Next term I am looking forward to teaching them all about chocolate and making chocolate with them. I am also looking forward to the warm weather and lots of outdoor PE.

Have a lovely holiday everyone and don't forget to keep blogging and telling me what you are getting up to while you are not at school and I will try and tell you some of the things I am doing too!!

Happy Easter

Hi NW8,

Just learnt how to blog, so I thought I'd wish you all a very happy Easter! Don't eat too many chocolate eggs-I'll finish off any you can't manage just bring them into school for me on Tuesday!

Hope you are all doing something nice. I'm going into London on Saturday. I'm going to treat myself to a nice lunch and have a look around the shops-one of my favourite occupations as many of you know.

I will get up early to go for a swim first though-I have to do at least 100 lengths!

My cats will be cross I have left them all day though so I will have to be extra nice to them when I get home-lots of cuddles I think.

I'll let you know if I buy anything nice.
