Wildlife Adaptations

On Wednesday 25th March 2009, JF13 had been learning about animal and plant adaptation. Some of us were lucky enough to go onto the MacBook to make a ComicLife presentation or a Word documents. On our presentation or piece of paper we had to split the page in half, one half a plant and the other half an animal. The people who had a piece of paper to work on had to draw the plant and the animal and the people on MacBooks used photos of Google. We had to write about the plant's and animal's adaptation. On my ComicLife presentation I had done a cactus and a duck.

Literacy

In Literacy with Mrs Ketley On 23-03-2009 we were learning about formal letters. To make our Literacy a bit more funny and exciting we had to complain about something in a book. E.G complain about a wardrobe that doesn't take you into a magical land and you just stub your toe on the wooden back, or you buy a rabbit hole from B&Q to take you into wonderland but instead you end up in hospital with a broken ankle. I decided to do Harry Potter and platform 9 3/4 click the link saying attachment to read. During this lesson with Mrs Ketley I have learned the features of formal and informal text. Lets hope it comes up in SATS. (:

Interview with Josh

On the 10th of December 2008 we had our christmas performance. Josh was in charge of getting the music on at the right time. I interviewed him on what was it like to do that job.

The music some people chose was great and really connected with the audience.

AK14 Literacy

My Tudor Artwork !

We started doing a portrait of someone of our choice from the Tudor times. I chose Jane Seymore. We were given a picture to look at to help us draw it. When we had completed that, we were given a set of water-pencils. (pencils you dip in water to get the effect of water paints.) To colour it in.

11 +   Exam!

On Saturday 22nd November I had to go to the Girls High School, to do the 11+. We had 3 tests to do.

1. Literacy. I don't think I done that good on the |iteracy test. :(

2. Maths. I really tried really hard with all of the tests. But I think i done the best at Maths. Thank You Mr Furness. :-)

3. Verbal Reasoning. I really didn't do well at this test. At one point I just put in any answer becausxe I only had 5 minuites left :S

I hope the boys done just as good.

Royal Albert Hall - Sunday 16^th November 2008

On Sunday 16th November 2008. Some of Kings Road Choir, went to London to sing at the Royal Albert Hall. We all Gathered in the Small Hall, at around 7:30 - 7:45 to get ready to set of. We got on the coach at about 8:05. After we got on the coach we waved our goodbyes and set of to London. It took approximately 2 hours to get there but it was worth it.

When we arrived at the Royal Albert Hall we had to wait a little while so we had our mornng snack.

When we were aloud to enter the Royal Albert Hall, we got taken to our dressing room to put our stuff down.

Then, we were wizzed of to to our first rehearsal. After our 1 ^1/2 rehearsal we had our lunch. But then again we were wizzed of for another rehearsal! for around 2 hours. we went over a couple of songs. But yet again we had ANOTHER break for another 1 ^1/2  and then wizzed back again for our FINAL rehearsal.

But then the time came for our real preformance at 6:30pm. It was AMAZING. Esspecially when we done the mexican wave. We were also recorded for a perfessional DVD for parents to buy. It went by so quickly. But it was worth it.

All the effort put in the singing showed on the way home. Everyone slowly drifted to sleep - well apart from Megan and jade who were still wide awake :-) - It was an amazing oppertunity.

The best part was when we found out who our host was ... It was Sid of off Cbbies. he was so funny!

Also when we found that Lara's design went on the t-shirt. WELL DONE !

THANK YOU to Mrs Fuke who chose me to go and represent the school. And Mr Furness, Mr Kyriarco and also Mrs Woolmer, for taking up there own time just to come and see us sing.

 Instructions On How To Make Condensation:

Fill a bowl half way.

Put cling film over the bowl.

Then put the bowl on a window ledge.

Wait a night.

Then there will be CONDENSATION on the cling film!

Learning Space

I Am Visual and kinaesthetic learner. It means that I have to move around, watch video clips and look at diagrams to learn and understand.

I'm not suprised with my result because i'm more focused with my maths then with Literacy because in maths there are diagrams but in Literacy you just have to listen.

But I think it's not entirely correct since I think I do better working with a computer.
