Football At Kings Road

Football Today

Today Class JF13 went outside in the scorching heat and played football with a coach. We started off by doing a warm up where we had to run inbetween footballs that had been placed on the ground, later on we had to do sidesteps through them.

After a while we played a game where we had to kick the football at other player's footballs. If we hit an opponent's football we gained a life and if our football got hit by an opponent we lost a life.

The people that ran it, Chris and Liam, were great at describing what we had to do.

It was very fun and i'd love to go again.

Here is a picture of me playing.

King Edward VI Grammar School (K.E.G.S) Maths Day

KEGS Maths Puzzle Day.

Today a majority of children in Year 6 visited KEGS to participate in the Puzzle Maths Day. I was with two children, Lewis and Sherry, we worked well together and solved lots of puzzles.

We also played a game of "Nims", where you have to choose a number between 20 and 30 and the last person to take a pen loses. The key to winning is to start with 22 and take 1, if they take 3 (which is the maximum amount of pens you can take in a turn.) you take one and that adds up to 4 carry on making the amount of pens add up to four and you've won.

It was a lot of fun and i'd love to go again!

The Apprentice

The Apprentice

On Wednesday the 20th of May JF13 formed groups of 4 or 3 children, they had to build a bridge that could bear the total amount of a kilogram.

My group, formed with Alex, Abigail and Ross, used sellotape, masking tape, string and newspaper made a bridge. We tested it and it held 7,200 grams leading by a distant 1,300 grams.

Unfortunately, not everyone managed to complete the task, but everyone had fun.

My Plant Diagram

Yesterday, at the I.T Suite JF13 scanned in their pictures of plants and weeds they drew on Friday in the Quad. You must remember all of these were drawn by hand.

My file is an attachment that tells you the purposes of parts on a plant.

Animal And Plant Adaptations

This morning JF13 explained adaptations to people through drawings or using the application ComicLife. I chose to do mine about a polar bear and a cactus.

Silly Formal Letter

This morning children from Year 6 wrote up their copies of a formal letter. They were about a product that a silly person had brought.

I wrote about a man called Stumpy Lumpy, who purchased a rabbit-hole.

I also learnt how to hone my skills of formal letter writing, as well as improving my vocabulary

Idiom Poem

Idiom Poem

I’m up to my

Eyes in work

(It’s a shame I lost my contact lenses.)

My mum told me not to

Get my knickers in a twist

(It’s lucky I wear boxer shorts instead!)

Mar made me jump out

Of my skin

(Now I’m a muscleman!)

My friend jumped

For Joy

(But she caught him.)

How I Learn

Wednesday 10th September                                                                                                                                                              What kind of learner I am.

I learn in two different ways. The first one is learning kinaesthetically and the second one is learning visually. When learning kinaesthetically you use movement to help you learn easily. I also use visual learning to see the main points of lessons. But, one thing I am suprised by is I am not an auditory learner, because I am quite good at listening.
