A Spring Poem
Submitted by Jonathan S on Sat, 10/05/2008 - 09:00In homework we had to write a poem about spring hear is mine. I decided to do a Cross-tic poem.
Spring is a beautiful time when the animals start to grow,
Pink little flowers sway in the breeze.
Rich purple blossom grows on the trees,
In the field lambs and little bunny rabbits play in the sun.
No one not one creature is not happy in spring,
Great is spring when everyone is happy!

Spring
Submitted by Angelica C03 on Sat, 10/05/2008 - 06:27For Homework we have to write a poem about spring and this is what I wrote:
Spring, Spring, Spring
is almost here.
Spring, Spring, Spring
the sky will be so clear.
Spring is time to cheer,
For us, young and dear.
Spring, Spring, Spring,
Rain, Rain, Rain,
on the leaves
And the eaves.
Take your airy April flight,
Through the merry April light.

Year 4 all went to Writtle!
Submitted by Mrs Leslie on Tue, 06/05/2008 - 16:54
Hello everyone
My poem is about our day at Writtle last week. I wrote it while my muddy jeans were going round and round in the washing machine! I have been really busy since then so this is the first chance I have had to post it.
Year four all went to Writtle
It was the first of May
It rained and rained
And then…. more rain
But it didn’t spoil their day!
They saw an owl
It was eighteen
All fluffy, white and small
And it only weighed twelve ounces
That’s not very much at all!
Chicks and cows
And lambs and bulls
Animals there were many
But sun…. guess what?
It’s no surprise, there really wasn’t any!
Help! They cried we need the bus
To take us back to school
And back they went
All covered in mud
Their memories to recall.

We crossed the Pont de Normandie a large suspension bridge which was amazing. The weather was fantastic. On Sunday we went past the church at Notre-dame and we rode around 170 miles. I had a brilliant time we arrived home on Monday at 4.30 pm. I would have stayed longer if I could!

Near the end of the day me and dad went to Lego City and it had castles, towers, houses, moving cars, moving boats, moving trains and lots more, it was amazing! on one of the towers there was a mini Dalek! it was so CUTE!

Submitted by Angelica C03 on Sun, 04/05/2008 - 06:16Planting Flowers
Submitted by Megan C on Sat, 03/05/2008 - 18:14Today Me and Mum were in the garden as it was such a lovely day. This morning we went out and bought yellow and purple flowers, a tomato plant and mint. I also planted my spring onions today and the tomato plant as it's mine (but I don't like tomatos!) first we got lots of pots and then filled it up with soil half way after that I sprinkled the onion seeds on top (the seeds were black) next I put some more soil on top and watered it and I did the same with all the other plants. I enjoyed planting all the flowers and getting muddy hands!
Have you planted any of the flowers in our goody bag yet?

Conor B
Submitted by Conor B03 on Thu, 01/05/2008 - 16:04Today year 4 went on a trip to Writtle College. We went by coach, it took about 10 minutes to get there. When we arrived we had to get into pairs and walk down a path. Me and Connor called it puddle lane. Then we met a farmer who took us to the different activities. They were in marquees. One was a lunch tent where we sat on hay bales and ate our lunch. There were cows, sheep, goats, chickens and chicks all in one big marquee. Some of us held a chick. It rained heavily on and off. We got soaked and very muddy!! I thought one of the best bits was a thin stick of willow that we had to bend into a circle and twist it to stay put. One activity was we went through a tunnel made of willow, at the end there was a long dirt path that went in all directions with puddles of mud everywhere. With the willow circle, once you made it to the end of the dirt path you had to stick it on wooden stick that was stuck in the ground. I had a great day I would do it again.
