Ancient Maths of Ethiopia

Mr Furness's picture

Take a look at this innovative (or rather ancient) method of multiplication.

Try it with your own examples. Does it work for you?

Some of you know how to multiply using the Grid method. Which do you think is easiest?

Kings Road Primary School Visits the Olympic Stadium

Mr Furness's picture

18 pupils from Kings Road Primary School including parents and staff attended a Gold Challenge event at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, East London on 1st April 2012.

Kings Road Primary School has been recognised by Gold Challenge as a significant contributor to the fundraising towards our chosen charity, Kids Inspire.

It was a fun day exploring the new Olympic Park and also to enter the stadium where so much activity will take place later this year.

Our pupils and staff participated in an Olympic Parade taking them around the entire stadium. One very lucky young man, Ronan, was chosen to represent Kings Road Primary School and the Kids Inspire charity to run 100m on the track! Ronan ran his race in style and enjoyed his moment on the podium steps.

George in Year 5 commented "Thanks to the people who made it possible, I had a great day on Sunday at the stadium.   A day all of us will never forget."

Watch the video to find out more about this exciting visit.
